William (Bill) Laidle was born on 23 June 1936 and was called home to be with his Lord on 24 November 2016, aged 80 years.

In his younger years, Bill was fanatical about sport – athletics and football in particular – but all this was about to change when he embarked on his National Service in the RAF.  Here he met a number of Christians and was taken along to a church meeting where he heard the gospel for the first time.  This had a profound impact on him and as a result, he made the decision to accept the message of the gospel and commit his life to Christ. This was at the time of the Suez Crisis and his squadron were advised that they would be flown out to a secret destination in the Persian Gulf. Within a matter of days, they were flown out to Bahrain.  Here, Bill met local Christians and worshipped with them after having been baptised in the local swimming pool!

On his return to the UK, Bill sought out like-minded Christians and continued in fellowship with them for many years.  He quickly recognised that his gift was in the written word and he wrote numerous articles that were published in various Christian magazines.  Unfortunately, Bill suffered from various health problems and at the age of 53 had to retire from business.  This enabled him to devote more time to writing and for the remainder of his life, he continued to study the scriptures and write more material.  He was always passionate about searching the scriptures in order to know the mind of God for him and all believers and it is hoped that this website will inspire and encourage other Christians to do likewise.
